Flights, UK Airports, Accommodation, Travel & Parking

Here at Holidays with Heart we have many years’ experience of travelling to Morocco.  We keep up to date with all the viable flight options in a more efficient way than the screen-scraper websites.

Our advice on the best flight for group travel is based on many criteria, including the logistics of airport transfers from your airport of arrival in Morocco to Taroudant.  If you don’t choose the advised flight, it can result in:

  • having to pay for a special airport transfer*
  • missing the bonding that happens when an excited group travel together
  • if your flight arrives later, missing the first experiences on arrival

*Even if your flight is scheduled to arrive at the same airport at a similar time as the group flight, a delay in the arrival of your flight could result in us having to use an extra vehicle.

JOURNEY SHARING TO AND FROM UK AIRPORTS

Many of our group holiday participants choose to share cars or hire a minibus with driver or a large hire car to get to the airport – the fun of being together starts then. However, there are often good public transport options:  for example, train into Gatwick, Manchester and Stansted is easy, whereas Bristol has a very frequent coach connecting to trains. Megabus or National Express Coaches from major cities are also an option.

ACCOMMODATION AND PARKING

In the past, we have found that the properties listed below have provided reasonable service at a fair price. However, we recommend that you conduct your own research in order to get the best deals for your needs and dates.  Please be aware that if you have an early flight in the winter time, it is most inadvisable to drive any great distance to the airport from home that morning as road conditions may be unsuitable – not to mention that you might not enjoy the first day of holiday or even miss the flight due to delays (roadworks sometimes occur at night)!

ALTERNATIVE PARKING AND ACCOMMODATION

You might like this cheap option for parking – on private individual’s driveways Park On My Drive (which is cheaper) or Just Park.  Or to sleep in someone’s home through AirBnB. Both offer online reviews which can give an indication of the quality of service.

ACCOMMODATION & PARKING NEAR GATWICK AIRPORT

If you are looking to park, there are three Premier Inns with parking packages, one of which is at Airport Way, which allows you to walk into the North Terminal which serves EasyJet flights.  The Premier Inn scores well on sustainability, comfort and accessibility: it has nice ethically sourced sheets, eco-label toiletries in dispensers, organic yoghurt etc for breakfast, pleasant rooms, restaurant and comfy bed. All these combined with the efficient check in mean that it is a good option.  A more expensive option with unusual rooms is the Yotel “pod” hotel in South Terminal (note most Easyjet flights go from North Terminal now, but the shuttle train to North Terminal is free and fast). A cheaper option is the Travelodge which is usually clean, inexpensive (rooms can sleep up to 3 people & we have sometimes found you can get the room for under £20 when there is a sale), conveniently located and has a reasonably priced shuttle bus at the right times.

ACCOMMODATION & PARKING NEAR STANSTED AIRPORT

The Premier Inn is conveniently situated on the edge of the airport and moderately priced for B&B and parking.

ACCOMMODATION & PARKING NEAR MANCHESTER AIRPORT

The Heatherlea Guest House , the Croft Corner Guest House and the Premier Inn are all conveniently located, have good reviews at the time of writing and are moderately priced.  There is another Premier Inn which offers parking packages. Ibis Budget hotel within walking distance of all terminals at Manchester Airport
Comfy mattresses, free Wifi but small “nest” bedrooms.

ACCOMMODATION & PARKING NEAR BRISTOL AIRPORT
Being situated in a rural area allows a variety of small B&B establishments to offer parking and very short, traffic free airport transfers; places to consider which are quiet and handy with reasonably priced parking are: The Old Chaff Mill (includes parking option); Woodlands Guest House (very homely-one twin & one double room and a large garden); Acorns Guest House (comfortable). For larger groups, the Premier Inn is a moderately priced hotel but a few miles away but does not offer a parking package. For parking try Oakwood Parking; it is very convenient, small and very efficient in our experience.
