La Maison Anglaise – an authentic Moroccan house!
We are excited to announce that building of an innovative new garden ecolodge is well underway. We will have a pool, lovely gardens and 12 en suite bedrooms adjacent to the stunning town walls. It will be open by the end of 2019. Read more here.
Until then our comfortable, secure, well-equipped base is an authentic Moroccan house with 9 bedrooms and roof terraces. It has been known as La Maison Anglaise by the locals ever since we opened it as a guest house in 1997.
- Situated in a quiet neighbourhood of the Taroudant medina (the settlement inside the ancient walls).
- Just 10 minutes’ walk from Taroudant’s famous markets.
- Sustainably managed and certified by Green Key, an internationally recognised sustainable management label. Read more
And most important of all: you’ll be looked after by the exceptional Moroccan staff
…we had a marvellous time at La M A. The staff, as always, were beyond brilliant, and their hospitality and service impeccable. Muiz, December 2016
The house is always kept spotlessly clean.
It is decorated with:
- modern and traditional tiling
- mosaic floors
- ornate plaster ceilings
- Moroccan lanterns, Moroccan rugs, Moroccan fabrics, Moroccan pottery
- wooden and wrought iron furniture – hand-made in the local souk
The whole house also lends itself to use by groups thanks to the large communal areas. The dining room doubles up as an activities room whilst the roof terrace is large enough for circle dancing, singing or yoga practice.
