Tutor Emily Katsuno

Emily Katsuno Yoga Pic

Emily’s life has been guided by her love of movement, originally training as a professional contemporary dancer. Alongside this, during many soul searching trips to India, Emily discovered yoga and has been teaching yoga since 2011. Emily has also been a practicing yoga therapist since 2015 and runs her own center The Soma Shala in South Devon which focuses on hosting work from therapeutic embodiment traditions and fostering a connection to the land and nature. Being a Mum to three small children has led Emily towards exploring somatic movement practices that regulate the nervous system and create resource and she is also a trained trauma informed yoga teacher. Emily is interested in how the field of somatics and yoga compliment each other to facilitate therapeutic, fulfilling, nourishing, self-regulating connections with ourselves and the world around. Emily is also on the teaching faculty for the Devon School of Yoga.
