Lucie Walker

Lucie had a varied path before becoming a yoga teacher but has always loved to teach. She originally trained as a secondary school teacher and taught Russian, German and French. After having her children, she trained and taught aerobics and fitness, then qualified as a nutritional therapist in 2002 with a diploma in Natural Nutrition and Naturopathy.

In 2010 she embarked on a Steiner Teacher Training course from which she graduated in 2012. Lucie then taught at a Steiner school, as a class teacher in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire up until 2022. This was a very “art based” form of teaching full of storytelling, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Lucie now incorporates this aspect into her yoga where she uses stories and poems to illustrate yoga philosophy and to add another dimension to her yoga classes.

Having always had an interest in yoga, Lucie gained her 200 hours certificate with Orange Yoga in Cheltenham. She has been teaching yoga in her local area since then and this year (2025) she will successfully complete her 500 hours training.

Since starting her 500 hours training, she has become very interested in Yin yoga. Yin yoga grew out of Traditional Chinese Medicine and encourages relaxation at a very deep level, both within the bodies’ tissues and within the mind, as it is very slow and meditative. In this way it is perfect for beginners and for people who are injured or new to exercise and meditation. She has completed two five day training courses in Yin yoga and she currently teaches it once a week in the village where she lives.

Lucie also teaches a more dynamic form of yoga, probably best described as “hatha flow”, where the emphasis is on strength, flexibility and stamina.

Lucie has various hobbies and is still extremely interested in nutrition.  She paddleboards on her local canal, swims and walks her dog, Stanley. She has recently gained a qualification in Ayurvedic massage and now sees clients at her home.
