Tutor: Sally Ditzel
Sally has been Circle Dancing for over 25 years and has been choreographing since 2003. Sally will choreograph to anything as long a dance reveals itself!
She loves dancing with some amazingly gifted teachers and choreographers and the feeling of community it brings.
Sally actively encourages togetherness through Circle dancing.
Sally was part of The Huddlers, a group of 5 dancers who ran day and weekend courses. Now she teaches 3 times a month in Croydon and leads her own retreats.
Sally has a growing repertoire of contemporary dances which is where Sally’s heart lies but she also enjoys rich and diverse traditional dances and attends regular Greek dancing and annual weekends taught by Dimitris Triantafyllidis. She adapts her teaching to appeal to the dancers in her group.
About Sally’s choreographies
Loved Ones was her first choreography in 2003.
Masar is a dance that has spread worldwide! The music took her breath away when she first saw a video of Le Trio Joubran, 3 brothers from Palestine that play Ouds. The brothers attended a peace rally where people from different faiths and backgrounds came together celebrating music and dance.
Sally choreographed O Stomoulis O Lohais and I Garsona to traditional Greek music where she mixes traditional and modern steps.
Music Sally Loves
Sally has a passion for piano music: Ludovico Einaudi, Yiruma and Max Richter to name a few.
Mike Oldfield’s music has also led to these 4 choreographies: Cochise, Muse, Voyager and Celtic Rain.
Pilates on offer!
Sally is also a qualified Pilates and Hypopressives trainer and will be offering pre-breakfast Pilates sessions for those who wish to join.
