Darren holds a BA (Hons) English & Creative Writing (1st class), a PGCE in Lifelong Learning, and has been an adult education teacher for 10 years.  In addition to La Maison Anglaise, he also teaches residential courses in Philosophy and Literature at Higham Hall in Cumbria, Dillington House in Somerset, and an annual Creative Writing break at the Green Park Hotel in Pitlochry, Perthshire, as well as Stoic retreats at Minsteracres in County Durham and the Earth Spirit Centre in Somerset.  Additionally, he offers day courses at the Bristol Folk House, Morrab Library in Penzance, the Guildford Institute, the Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution in London, the Birmingham & Midland Institute, and Dilston Physic Garden in Northumberland.  As well as on-line courses at darrenharper.net .  Darren has almost completed his first book, Encounters and Reflections: An Introduction to Philosophy, which will be published in 2022.
